1. Which apps this covers
This page explains how to delete an account in the nearvise apps, made by nearvise. The five apps share one account, so deleting it in one app deletes it in all of them:
- nearvise — the local marketplace for questions, job posts and quotes
- nearvise Payments (also called nearvise POS)
- nearvise Invoice
- nearvise CRM
- nearvise Connect
2. Delete your account in the app
Sign in with the account you want to delete, then:
nearvise, nearvise Payments or nearvise Invoice
- Tap the menu button (☰) at the top of the screen.
- Tap your name at the top of the menu to open your profile.
- Scroll to the bottom. Under Account, tap Delete account.
- Confirm with Delete.
nearvise CRM
- Open the Account tab.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
- Confirm with Delete account.
nearvise Connect
- Open the Me tab and tap Settings (the gear).
- Under Account, tap Delete nearvise account.
- Confirm with Delete account.
Only want to leave nearvise Connect? Use Leave nearvise Connect in the same place instead. It deletes your Connect profile, posts, comments and messages and keeps your nearvise account.
You are signed out once the account is deleted. Deletion can’t be undone. If you sign in with Google or Apple, you can also remove nearvise from your Google or Apple account settings afterwards.
3. Ask us to delete it without the app
If you no longer have the app or can’t sign in, send us a deletion request. Tell us the email address or phone number on your nearvise account. To protect you, we confirm the request with you through that email address or phone number before we delete anything, and we reply once it is done.
4. When a business has to wait
So that no one loses money, a business account can’t be deleted while card money is still on its way to it:
- card payments collected through nearvise that haven’t been deposited to the business’s bank yet;
- a balance still in the business’s Stripe account on its way to its bank; or
- a card payment started in the last 24 hours that could still complete.
The app says which of these applies. Try again after your next deposit, or once the payment completes.
5. What is deleted
- Your sign-in, so you can no longer sign in to any nearvise app with that account.
- Your profile, business profile and private account details, and your marketplace posts — removed from the Service straight away.
- Your nearvise CRM customer book: customer totals, groups, notes, tags and reports.
- Your nearvise CRM texting: conversations, campaigns and their recipients, and your Twilio credentials. Your number is disconnected from nearvise.
- Your nearvise Connect membership: profile, posts, comments, likes, votes, follows, blocks, mutes, notifications, photos, videos and direct messages. Messages you sent in group chats are blanked; groups you owned pass to another member or close.
- nearvise’s access to a Stripe account you linked and to QuickBooks, which is revoked.
6. What is kept, and for how long
- Archived profile and posts — 90 days. A copy of your profile and marketplace posts is kept in a restricted archive, not visible to anyone using the Service, for 90 days for disputes, fraud prevention and legal requests, and is then deleted.
- Sales and invoice records. Register sales, invoices, estimates, payments, refunds and deposits stay, because the business and its customers need them for their own records, taxes and refunds or chargebacks. They are kept for as long as the law and our payment partners require.
- Records we must keep by law. Records we need for legal, tax, payment or dispute reasons may be kept longer where the law requires. Stripe keeps its own records under its own policy.
- Messages others received. Quotes, comments and chat messages you already sent to other people in the nearvise app may stay in their conversations.
- Reports. Reports you made, and reports and moderation records about your content, are kept to deal with repeat abuse and legal requests.
- Logs and backups. Logs are kept for 90 days to 1 year and crash reports for 90 days; backups roll over on their own schedule.
